Blake's battery is always going strong.

Two-year-old Blake loves to ride his battery-powered four-wheeler. He runs the battery down just about every day.

Unlike his four-wheeler, Blake's “battery” is always going strong. But when Blake was born, things weren't right. He was very sick and was not tolerating his feedings. Blake's pediatrician refused to give up until she discovered what was making Blake so sick. “She told us she'd keep researching until she knew what was wrong,” his mom, Jackie, says.

Tests revealed that Blake had a very rare disorder called galactosemia. He needed a special diet because his body couldn't break down galactose, a natural sugar found in many foods. Eating too much galactose could lead to brain damage, liver damage and cataracts.

“The minute he was on ProSobee, he was a different child.”

Doctors recommended Mead Johnson's ProSobee® infant formula. “The minute he was on the soy infant formula, he was a different child,” Jackie says. And except for a couple of ear infections, he has been healthy ever since. His tests show that he's above average developmentally. And he's definitely above average when it comes to his physical growth. Jackie says that Blake has always been in the 95th percentile for weight and height.

ProSobee is still an important part of Blake's diet today. He's also a healthy eater who likes the bread, cookies and cakes that his mom makes for him. She shops regularly at health food stores, reads labels and contacts companies to make sure that their products are appropriate for her son and that the ingredients in the products haven't changed.
