DHA and Why it's Important
During the first 2 years of life, a baby's brain develops rapidly and is especially sensitive to nutrition. That's why many experts believe it's important to get DHA during this critical time. DHA is a fatty acid that acts as a building block for a baby's brain. And Enfamil Newborn has this brain-nourishing nutrient that is important to a baby's development.
The Abc's of Vitamin D
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends 400 IU of vitamin D daily. Enfamil Newborn provides this amount in 27 fl oz. close to the approximate daily intake of a newborn through 3 months. Vitamin D is important because it:
- Helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus
- Helps build strong bones
Prebiotics and Your Baby's Natural Defenses
Prebiotics feed the good bacteria found naturally in the digestive tract where 70% of your baby's immune system is located. Emerging science suggests prebiotics may support a baby's developing immune system. Enfamil Newborn has a Natural Defense® Dual Prebiotics® Blend, designed to help support your baby's own natural defenses.

Customer Reviews
Wonderful!
My daughter is doing wonderful on this! So happy. My previous two children had to change formulas several times. This newborn formula is what they put her on in the hospital and we haven't had any problems at all. She hardly ever spits up and has no gas issues. We haven't used the first gas drop. The only problem is that it is hard to find. Of course she is doing to good on it that I am willing to search for it.
