One-in-a-Million Kids

To us, all children are special. And all of them deserve the very best start in life.

Of special concern are children who are born with rare metabolic disorders such as maple syrup urine disease (MSUD), phenylketonuria (PKU) and tyrosinemia. These diseases are so rare that they affect less than one in a thousand children — in some cases, even fewer. But to us, these kids are one in a million.

That's why we provide a line of special metabolic products that often form the foundation of special diets for infants and children with these disorders.

While some of these conditions can be life-threatening, the appropriate Mead Johnson metabolic diet product can help provide the nutrition these kids need to grow and develop.

Helping Hand for Special Kids™ Program

To ensure that infants with special nutritional needs can receive the benefits of the products, Mead Johnson established the Helping Hand for Special Kids program. Helping Hand for Special Kids allows physicians to offer assistance to infants who need special formulas but whose families cannot afford them. To date, more than 18,500 families per year nationwide participate in this unique program.
