Comments about Enfamil Pregestimil®:

This is a very expensive product, but it is also worth it. My daughter seems to have had problems digesting, pooping and breathing (of all things, I had to administer CPR on her a couple times) on my breastmilk and on all the other formulas I've tried, so her doctor prescribed this to her. I think this product smells like cat food but my daughter seems to love it. I heard from other parents they had a hard time switching to this formula because of the taste...Honestly I just think my princess is just an aggressive eater because I'm pretty sure this formula really does tastes as bad as it smells...BUT...a little after I switched to this formula the symptoms I seemed to be concerned about went away. She also goes through this formula much slower than the other ones I've tried. I do have to order mine via the pharmacy because it is very difficult to find. (Then I take it up to the front and use my WIC stamps because my medical will not reimburse me for this product). Any Kroger stores will let you order, and then take it from the pharmacy and let you pay for it up front. Most places will ask you to pay for it at the pharmacy and you can't use WIC stamps at the pharmacy. To caveat that - I go to the same pharmacy and every time they seem to be very confused about ordering this product for me. If I have a prescription, order it. It's that simple. Be prepared for people to have a hard time understanding this is considered a medical food and you cannot waltz into the formula aisle to pick it up willy nilly. They always tell me to check the baby aisle first. It's seriously easier to order online but if you are getting reimbursed for it via medical or WIC, they will not pay for the formulas you order online. I would not use this formula for your infant without a doctor's recommendation and perscription.

Comments about Enfamil Pregestimil®:

I have a preemie and he had the worst time with tolerating feeds. He did not poop for almost 3 weeks until he was this formula. Then he started to go with some help. This formula smells horrible. The smell gets worse when you take out the extra calories that the hospital put in. Over all though it worked it did what it was suposed to do.

Comments about Enfamil Pregestimil®:

2 years ago my first son was born, at 8 weeks old after liver surgery and a 2 week hospital stay he was diagnosed with a liver disease called Alpha 1 Antitrypsin deficiency. He was only 5lbs at 2 months old, and one of the symptons of his disease is fat malabsorption. They started him on Pregestimil during his hospital stay and he was up to 7lbs by discharge day. He stayed on this formula for a year and it helped him grow and stay healthy. I had to have it specially ordered & mailed through my insurance but it was a lifesaver for my son & his health!

Comments about Enfamil Pregestimil®:

I have a preemie with short gut and pregestimil is the only formula he can eat, my complaint is the I have to special order it and pay shipping, or drive 20 miles to a store that says they sell it. So I pay just as much in gas as I would for shipping. I wish it was sold in more stores. Otherwise, it is a great formula for short gut babies :) Free samples would be appreciated, I have so many hospital bills from my baby spending the first 3 months of his life in the NICU.
