Ensure your toddler’s diet provides the nutrients he or she needs. Pediatrician Dr. Scott Cohen shares his advice on the toddler diet and explains why DHA, an important building block of the brain, is important for your child’s development.
Hi, Enfagrow parents. My name is Dr. Scott Cohen and I'm the author of "Eat, Sleep, Poop: A Common Sense Guide to Your Baby's First year".
5 Tips for Toddler Nutrition:
One is to make sure they're getting DHA. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that's really important for brain development. Number two is calcium intake for strong bones. Number three is a protein source. The two other things, number four and five, are healthy eating habits. Healthy eating habits are more important than volume. And number five is variety. A fruit, a vegetable, a protein source, a dairy source. So that they're getting a wide balance and variety of vitamins and minerals. So if they only eat one or two, it's okay.
